LOVE GOD.  LOVE PEOPLE.  SERVE BOTH.

Welcome Parents

Welcome Parents to the Quest Student Ministries website! Here at Quest, we want you to know we value your teenager’s spiritual journey with the utmost importance and are excited to be part of it.

You should know we have taken the necessary steps to create a dynamic student ministry program that offers teens multiple opportunities to get plugged-in so they may become passionate followers of Jesus Christ. From small-groups to outreach to worship, Quest provides many outlets. Our ultimate goal and prayer is to bring, connect, prepare, and send teens in Christ's name.

To make this passion a reality, we need your partnership. As a parent, there are many ways you can get connected and involved with Quest. Musically inclined? We can use you. Technologically savvy? We could use you. Love to hang out with teens? We could use you. Check out our "How To Plug In" section below to get more connected. Q: How do I get my son/daughter involved in Quest?

A: This is probably the most frequently asked question of Quest. The tough part is, there is no one right answer for every student. We do want to mention a few different ideas of getting your son/daughter involved in Quest. One of the easiest ways to get your student involved is to introduce them to the Student Pastor at one of the weekend services. We invite you to come with your student and make sure that they are introduced to a student ministry staff member. Once a staff member meets them, the staff member will find a student who can show your son/daughter around during the services. Another way to get your student connected is to get them involved at Quest on Wednesday nights. Another way to get your son/daughter involved in the ministry is to come to a major event. Because of all the events we have, it may be a lot less threatening to come to an event rather than a church service or Bible study. Quest staff wants to do whatever is possible in order for your student to get involved in the ministry. There is no greater thing your son/daughter could be involved in than Quest at Sarasota Christian Church.

Q: What are all the events available to the students at Sarasota Christian Church?

A: There are way too many events to list. The best way to find out about all of the events is to check out the events section of the website. On that site, you can find all the upcoming events within Quest. You can also call the Quest office for any event questions or information.

Q: How do I, as a parent, get involved in Quest?

A: There are numerous ways for you, as a parent or guardian, to get involved in Quest. The easiest way to be involved is to pray for Quest on a regular basis. Although there are a lot of things going on in the ministry, none of those things make any kind of significant difference without God’s power. As far as physically getting involved in the ministry, there are tons of ways to get plugged in. You can be a small group leader. Just within the Quest building on the weekends, you can be a greeter, help at the youth booth, help serve in the café, help in the student services themselves, etc. You can contact the student pastor for more details on how to get involved. Every adult volunteer will fill out an Adult Volunteer Application which involves a background check.  Once that is cleared, someone from Quest will get in contact and find out where you could get plugged in.  There is no greater place where you can serve that will make any greater impact than in Quest. Quest staff would love to have you be a part of the team!

Q: If my son/daughter needs professional counseling, where should I go?

A: Anyone on Quest staff would love to talk with your son/daughter. We are not trained, licensed counselors, but we can speak with students about the spiritual nature of any issues. For any major psychological issues, we highly recommend a licensed, professional counselor. We have a counseling office here at Sarasota Christian Church and you can call the church office (941-924-0107) and ask to speak with them.

Q: Why does Quest do the things it does?

A: Quest does things in particular ways in order to fulfill the vision of the church. Rest assured anything that happens within Quest falls under the purpose of Quest itself. The purpose statement of Quest is: Love God, Love People, and Serve Both. Anything that happens in Quest falls under that purpose statement.
